In cooperation with the health care company Johnson & Johnson Ethicon Endo-Surgery we carry out multidisciplinary team (MDT) training workshops covering the topic of bariatric surgery, four times annually. Workshop participants mainly come from Europe and the Middle East. Furthermore, our participants cover a wide variety of professional categories, ranging from internists, endocrinologists, surgeons psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists etc.

Within the scope of these two-day workshops, various aspects of medical care and comprehensive management of bariatric patients by different professionals are highlighted (see »flyer). However, besides sharing specific knowledge a further important aspect of the workshop constitutes the process of multidisciplinary team building.

As a reward of our MDT workshops we have meanwhile gained a large international network of professionals in the field of obesity. The therewith related reciprocal exchange of experiences facilitates a continuous quality improvement and sharing best practice of our clinical work.
